Thursday Tunes.

This month's tunes: everyone seems to be going crazy for this song of Sam Smith, here in Belgium. So I couldn't stay behind. The rest are some songs that got stuck in my mind these last couple of days.. I was in a nostalgic mood.

Speculoos Cupcakes

When browsing the Internet for some new recipes, I suddenly noticed something. I've never come across an English/American speculoos recipe. I'm not sure if it's because speculoos is something typically European/Belgian or because it's just called differently in English. It might be comparable with ginger bread cookies or something, but I'm not sure since I've never had any. Anyway, if it is something exclusively European, I'd like to introduce non-Europeans to this deliciousness! It's not the traditional cookie, but these cupcakes are equally as good (maybe even better!). You find the recipe below:

Apple juice + cinnamon

I'm not sure if this counts as a recipe, it's that simple to make. Apples and cinnamon are always a great combo, that's why it's so weird I never had the idea myself to combine apple juice with cinnamon. I discovered this easypeasy recipe at a student event in Leuven and since then it's one of my favorite winter drinks (and I don't even like cinnamon that much). If you haven't tried it yet, I definetely recommand you to taste it.

10 things you didn't know about me.

I don't really have a good reason for this post, but I don't think I need one either. I just thought it might be fun to share 10 random facts about me. Some things you may know already and others will be new (and possibly weird) information. But everyone has its quirkiness, right?
  1. My friends don't know this blog exists.
I realise that I'm mainly talking to myself here. That's probably because I don't tell people I blog. I'm a little embarrased to say that I take pictures of everything and keep a notebook with ideas for a blog post. Besides, my friends are not really the blogging-type of people either. I'm just afraid they would think it's silly and that they would secretly laugh at me.
  2. I work in a supermarket.
On sundays I work at Delhaize (a large supermarket chain here in Belgium). I work at the meat counter (don't know if that's translated well, Google Translate helped me out), you know, the place where you get your bacon and ham, your charcuterie and stuff. I've been working there for a little over half a year and actually enjoy it too.
  3. I always wanted a pet tiger.
Aladdin has always been my favorite movie… still is actually. I loved how Yasmine's pet tiger always protected her and tigers are my favorite animals so that all together made me beg my parents for a pet tiger. I whined and nagged all day long but they refused to buy me a tiger.. I still don't understand why not! I swear one day I'll buy a cat and call it Rajah!

Simple tea light Makeover

A little - and so so so simple - way to spruce up your interior is to change up the little things, like tea lights for example. You only need washi tape and the best thing is you can change it whenever you want! It's almost no work and done in five minutes! So get out that washi tape and start decorating you tea lights! Sometimes it's in the little things!

Pause!

Just taking a little break from studying and while I was browsing the internet as a means of relaxation, I stumbled upon this little quote. It reminded me of the boyfriend and myself. That's totally us.
I thought I'd share, since I'm not sharing that much right now. For all those who are studying like me: Good luck, for those who aren't: you lucky bastards! ;)

First exam.

You may have noticed that I've not been posting that much lately (except for a few planned posts). That's because I have been busy studying and well, it needed all my focus and attention. I only have two exams this semester, which is not that much (okay, it's nothing) but I'm still kind of nervous. Especially since tomorrow is the first and I don't really know what to expect. It's the first exam of a new education. What's even more nerve-racking is that after my exams, I have to start my internship. Just thinking about it makes me sick! I just hope I can do it! Wish me luck!
