How to plan the perfect citytrip.

The Boyfriend and I will be celebrating our fifth anniversary this year (wow!). Because 5 is kind of a special number ànd we're both turning 25 this year (which is also kind of a special age), we decided we wanted to celebrate in an extraordinary way: we're going to Budapest! I love city trips, it's one of my favourite ways to travel. I also love organising and planning a city trip, especially because my travel companions have often complimented me about my planning skills as well. Therefore, I thought it would be fun to share my tips to plan the perfect city trip. So, here's what the practical side of my traveling process usually looks like:

Wishlist: Dille & Kamille

Recently, I discovered a new shop Dille & Kamille; cute, simple and useful kitchen supplies and more importantly; affordable! I didn't even knew that existed ;) I know I'm kind of late to hop on to the trend because I've been seeing people walking around with the D&K totebags for over a year or so but only now discovered it's a shop (woops!). Since the Boyfriend and I are planning on moving in together, you understand that this is a new favorite of mine. I'll even admit that I visit their website nearly every single day. What can I say? I can't resist. Needlesss to say that I have a very long wishlist for this store but I put together a little collection of things that I will be buying in the very near future.

1. Baking tin - cake // 2. Storage box // 3. Towels (red - grey)  // 4. Baking tin - pie // 5. Griddle pan // 6. Tongs

Chicken noodle soup.

Chicken noodle soup

Noodle soup is not really a thing we eat at our home. Chicken soup isn't either. I'm not sure why but we usually just ate tomato or vegetable soup. Noodles isn't a thing here, I suppose. Anyway, luckily there's such a thing called 'the Internet' and more specifically, Pinterest, which introduced me to noodle soup by showing me the most delicious photos of them. In fact, the pictures looked so good that I got curious and wanted to try it for myself. I've put it off for a long time because I thought it was probably too complicated but then the Boyfriend became really interested in making soups. Yeah, sounds weird but soup apparently is his favourite dish to make (at the moment). And there's only so much tomato soups you can make. So we decided to finally tackle the "complicated' noodle soup... and we discovered it's not complicated at all! On the contrary, it's easier than our 'regular' soups. In addition, my parents - who get to taste everything firsthand in exchange for the kitchen we may use - absolutely loved this dish as well. So much, that we already made another batch to put in the freezer, for those cold days during which you don't want to cook at all.

January.

Jup, jup, it's time for another overview of what I've done in January. It's been a very busy but a very good month! Let's have a look, shall we?

1. This was a picture taken in December but I only received it in January. These are my lovely colleagues and myself at work and in holiday mode (pssst, do you recognize Stephanie?) // 2. Fisheye selfie at the New Years' family dinner // 3. The boyfriend celebrated his 25th birthday! We made the pie ourselves // 4. To celebrate his birthday, we both took a day off from work and I planned a surprise day for him. We started with a great breakfast @Grand cafe Horta in Antwerp // 5. We walked across the city and ended up @Wasbar, they're going to see lots of us in the future, I'm sure! // 6. We also went to the Zoo, where I took this awesome selfie with a pinguin // 7. ... and saw big kitties! // 8. to end the day in style, we went to SIPS. The boyfriend is crazy about gin tonic and someone tipped me that this bar had the best in town. I'm not sure because I don't like GT but the caipiroska was a-ma-zing // 9. I've always wanted to have a pet tiger but because of incomprehensible reasons, you're not allowed to keep them as a pet so I toned down my wishes and have been nagging my parents for a cat ever since. I never got one but then, one day, this little cutie showed up at our doorstep and refused to leave... Even when we did our best to find his way home again. // 10. We became best friends right away // 11. After visiting the Landencocktail from Joker, we indulged ourselves and went to McDonalds. (the Gourmet burger is reallyyyyy good!) // 12. They played Music & Lyrics on tv and I have this running gag about it with my friend so I had to send her a snapchat // 13. Baking is not without risks, I'll tell ya! Looks worse than it is though ;) // 14. Told ya we became best friends! If I wasn't a catperson already, I definitely became one // 15. Okay, last picture, I promise! (for this month at least) But look at how cute he is! Yeah, we decided to keep him. His name is Fons and I'm sure you're going to see a lot more of him here from now on.
